Mineral insulated RTD cable with copper conductors is a common choice for temperature measurements up to 400°C. Copper conductors have a very stable resistance vs temperature relation. Furthermore, the material is economically priced.

- Supplied in coil form, but also available in straight lengths, which may exhibit a slight bow or curvature.
- Standard wall thickness is min. 10% of the cable diameter.
- Can be bent around a mandrel with a radius twice the sheath diameter without rupturing the sheath or compromising insulation resistance.
- The sheath can be welded, brazed, or soldered without impacting insulation resistance, as long as normal care is taken for the metals and thickness involved.
