Type E mineral insulated thermocouple cable

Type E, NiCr-CuNi thermocouple is a high-accuracy thermocouple for a moderate temperature range. In general, it has a smaller temperature range compared to other thermocouple junctions: -270°C to +900°C. Type E, NiCr-CuNi mineral insulated cables are well suited for cryogenic use due to the high output 68 µV/°C. Kamet stocks and distributes world known Okazaki’s AerOpak® mineral insulated cable.

About Type E thermocouple

Type E thermocouples, composed of Chromel and Constantan alloys, are widely utilized across various industries due to their high sensitivity, accuracy, and broad operating temperature range of -270°C to 900°C.

In the aerospace and defense sectors, they are essential for monitoring engine temperatures and ensuring the integrity of thermal protection systems. The medical industry employs them in sterilization equipment, incubators, and laboratory devices for precise temperature control. Manufacturing processes, especially in glass, ceramics, and metal production, rely on Type E thermocouples for quality control and process monitoring. The food and beverage industry uses them to ensure proper cooking, pasteurization, and storage temperatures. In the automotive sector, they are critical for testing engine and exhaust temperatures and optimizing performance. Research and development laboratories utilize these thermocouples for experimental setups and materials science research. Additionally, the energy and power generation industries use them to monitor temperatures in boilers, turbines, reactors, and geothermal systems, ensuring efficiency and safety.

The non-magnetic, corrosion-resistant properties of Type E thermocouples make them a versatile and reliable choice for precise temperature measurement in a variety of applications.

Type E thermocouple is also available as bare wire.
